Catch us on the field this weekend! We put up some TDs in our first game this past weekend and can’t wait for our next game.
What are we doing on Tuesday?! Sorry, we have plans.
BIG PLANS.
Our 6th graders have been collaborating for weeks on their “Mini Plays”. They’ve read a novel, studied and annotated scripts, selected roles for one another, conducted many tables reads, practiced stage use, blocking, and stage directions. We’ve also made new friends and had fun along the way. But as for Tuesday? WE ARE BOOKED FOR SHOW DAY. 6th grade actors, don’t miss it!🎬
Morning arrival at OUMS started with an impromptu “welcome line” and recess, as usual. This isn’t a special occasion. This is just everyday at OUMS.🐯
We’ve had a great start to the 2025-2026 school year. We’ve learned, played, practiced, shared meals, laughed…you know, lived the UNITY WAY.🐯
Our students know our data, their own data, the city’s data, and the state’s data. They know they outperformed their peers in the state and can talk about our achievements collectively and individually.
And let us tell you: when they looked closely at math achievement city-wide, they were not satisfied.
Come see the data yourselves, ask them questions, and see data transparency in action at our Annual Math Night this Friday from 5-6pm.
You already know we are ready for this! We kicked off the year with our Annual Back to School Night BBQ last week.
Thank you to our community partners for joining us: @oplmlkbranch , @fiaoakland , @accfb !
We met our new students and families, welcomed back our returning students, got kids signed up for library cards, shared a meal…we make it all happen!
Familias y Flavors was SO FUN! Thank you to our families for your contributions to our first-ever tasting tour in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month!
Our proud 8th graders earning their Honor Cords at the Honor Cord ceremony on Wednesday! Remember: it’s not too late to earn an Honor Cord. Keeping working hard and finish strong!🎓
If you’ve seen our data, you know we are a Level Up type of place!
Last night, we hosted our Annual Math Night and saw tons of kids, parents, Board Members, and families working through logic puzzles, Sudoku, and physical puzzles. They modeled DESMOS and explained our Math Data compared to many surrounding schools and districts. Our community is proud. Ask about us.🧮
