Our 8th Grade Scientists wrapped up their semester by BUILDING and LAUNCHING ROCKETS at school!
Our science teachers applied for and received a grant from the OaklandEd Fund that allowed them to purchase rocket-building materials from Pitsco Education. First, science teachers worked diligently to assemble rocket packets for students. Then, students and families picked up rocket packets at school. Over the week, students assembled rockets during their Zoom science classes. The exciting learning opportunity culminated in students launching rockets in small groups on our school campus while parents and families watched rockets soar.
At OUMS, our students are rocket scientists!
